Party president killed at restaurant carpark

PEOPLE’S Democratic Movement party president Geoffrey John Paul was killed by unknown suspects at the Bogchi Chan Restaurant car park in Gordon, Port Moresby, on Friday night.
The deceased’s brother Stanley Kewa told The National that Paul was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pacific International Hospital.
Kewa said police were investigating the killing.
“My brother was the managing director of the M.i Rent A Car and Maloba Construction and his sudden death is a great loss for the family,” he said.
“I believe the police will do their best in carrying out the investigations.
“And the suspect will face the law for what he did.”
NCD Met Supt Perou N’dranou said a suspect was arrested on yesterday.
“The suspect was detained at the Boroko Police Station cell while investigations were being carried out.”
According to security guards at the restaurant’s premises, the deceased drove into the car park when he was attacked.
