Pastor issues warning on stealing

A church pastor has warned people who rob others to stop what they are doing because it is against Christian principles.
Rev Ila Rova, from Karawa United Church in Rigo district, Central, said people must respect each other.
He said we must not steal or rob from one another.
Rova said in a statement that when a person continued to steal he or she has acted against God’s commandments.
He said nowadays, stealing was escalating in the country.
Rova said the people who committed the offence did not fear God.
“When you get something without permission, that is stealing,” Rova said.
“If you are stealing from someone, you are breaking one of God’s commandments.
“I am warning you to stop stealing.”
He said the country has reached 40 years of independence and it was time people changed to be good and abide by God’s commands.
Rova said though pastors have been preaching the word of God, people were still stubborn and continued to act in negative ways.
“No one knows you but God knows all your secrets,” he said.
Rova said one day, God would judge those who disobeyed his commandments.
“One day, when you die, God will definitely judge you,” he said.
He said God would judge men’s secret through Jesus Christ as the gospel.
“This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ as the gospel declares,” he said, quoting Romans 2:16.
He said in Ephesians 5:12, the Bible stated that it was shameful even to mention what the disobedient did in secret.
Rova further quoted Ephesians 4:28 which states that “he who has been stealing must no longer steal, but must work doing something useful with his hands that he may have something to share with those in need”.
He said in other Pacific countries people enjoyed freedom compared to Papua New Guinea.
Rova urged people to have fear of the Lord and obey his commandments.
