PDA chairman faces assault charge

CHAIRMAN of the Porgera Development Authority, Nixon Mangape, faces a charge of assault in the Wabag National Court.
He had been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Mangape, 48, of Alipis village, Porgera, Enga, is alleged to have assaulted a Robert Alembo near Paiam in Porgera.
It is alleged that Mangape and a group of friends confronted Alembo and  assaulted him after an argument.
Alembo was admitted at Paiam hospital from the injuries he suffered in the assault.
Mangape was released on K1,000 bail.
