People not agreeing with power project

Letters

PEOPLE from the rural villages in Rigo local level government, Galoma, Riwali Babagarubu, Walai, Koneka, Kaparoko and Gemo do not agree that phase one of the power line project will start along the main road from Galomarupu to Hula village.
Phase one would be completed before it tee off to un-routed villages.
Landowners from Galomarupu said they would not allow the power line project to proceed through their land without phase one enter ing Galomarupu junction to their village.
Rigo MP Lekwa Gure with his respective ward councilors should know that this is customary land and should refrain from promoting phases.
PNG Power Ltd has set the precedence in the past when power line was stringed from Gabagaba junction to Bonanamo village where not one single un-routed village was bypassed like Ginigolo, Gunugau, Tauruba, Gamoga and Bonanamo. We, the un-routed villages, understand that the scheduled phase one of power line project is to be stringed to Hula village to serve the gold mine on LNG project in Hula that generates revenue to national purse.
Regardless of the rural electrification for people, the past precedence set by PNG Power Ltd should be followed in order for the project to achieve its objectives.
