Pipi wants Muruks to improve performance

FULLBACK Dickson Pipi says his Mendi Muruks need to improve on their completion rate despite starting the Digicel Cup season with three wins in row.
Named man of the match in their 12-6 round-three win over the Port Moresby Vipers, Pipi said the Muruks were yet to reach their best despite a strong start to the season.
“We’ve won three from three which is a very good start to the season,” he said.
“Our boys really stayed in the fight against the Vipers.
“But one thing we need to polish up on is the number of handling errors.
“We just cannot afford to do that against quality teams.
“We will work on that during training and hopefully, we can put in a better performance in our next match.”
Pipi made four line breaks and also set up Joe Honk for the winner against the hosts at Sir John Guise Stadium.
Meanwhile, he thanked the Southern Highlands community in Port Moresby for attending the match and showing their support for the Muruks.
Muruks patron and former member for Imbonggu Francis Awesa also thanked their fans for a big turnout.
“Thanks to all our fans for coming to support the Muruks,” Awesa said.

  • The match between the vipers was good.
The boys played really hard but some areas to be improved on, such as complication of sets, errors in ball handling etc…
The tries were of something out of nothing.
    Muruks need good set play.
    Lipi lipi!
