KUMUL Petroleum National Soccer League acting manager Dimirit Mileng says players can’t take the field for another franchise if they have not been released by their former clubs.
When asked to comment on Hekari United’s inclusion of former Lae City forwards Raymond Gunemba and Nigel Dabinyaba, Mileng said: “The physical movement of players is not a problem.
“The official paper work to enable a player to transfer is another matter, which can only take place during a transfer window.
“The competition is yet to resume but the players (Gunemba and Daninyaba) are only training with the club.
“Therefore, there is no issue with the players.
“If players are listed to play prior to the transfer window then there is breach.
“If a player is not transferred according to the regulations and is listed to take the field then his new club will be held accountable for breaching player-transfer protocols.” Meanwhile, City owner Ian Chow said his club had not released the Papua New Guinea internationals.
“We have no problem with Gunemba and Dabinyaba joining Hekari,” he said.
“But I just want make it clear that they have not been officially released.
“We haven’t received any letter or request from the players in order for them to be released.
“They can join other clubs but I believe there are processes in place.
“They have to be officially released first.”
