THE Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) is set to kick off its calendar with a newlook charity sevens tournament in two weeks’ time.
The tournament is open to corporate and government bodies, and PMSA clubs with association executives agreeing to give 10 per cent of the revenue from the tournament for the Australian bushfire appeal. PMSA president Joseph Ealedona said in a statement that registration of K500 per team was now open. Registration closes on Feb 17 with the tournament to start on Feb 23.
“Interested teams must pay their K500 registration into the PMSA Bank South Pacific account and forward a copy of their payment statement to [email protected] by the 17th February to get into the draw,” he said.
Ealedona said the tournament would kick off after the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League pool matches in Port Moresby from Feb 16-22.
“PMSA will call a meeting on Feb 22 at a venue yet to be confirmed to discuss details of the tournament,” he said.
Meanwhile, PMSA kicks off its pre-season on March 21 and season on April 25.
“PMSA again reminds clubs the deadline for registration fees payment schedules of 30 per cent by March 13, 40 per cent by April 3 and the last 30 per cent by April 20,” Ealedona said.
“This includes the outstanding fees from last year.”
