HIGHLANDS Confederation director Joe Tokam says he is not lobbying for Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) chairman Sandy Tsaka’s post.
He told The National in Mt Hagen on Friday that an article which appeared in this paper was misleading as he has no interested in the chairmanship.
Tokam said he was only interested in retaining his post at the PNGRFL annual general meeting (AGM) in Port Moresby on March 7.
The director said he was happy with Tsaka for bringing the organisation forward with many new changes and developments over the last six years.
“After seeing this report last Tuesday, many people called me to check whether I was indeed interested in the post,” Tokam said.
“I was confused about what they were saying. I’m not happy because I’m not lobbying for the post.”
He said interested candidates were welcome to vie for the chairmanship at the AGM.
“This report is completely misleading and I want people and rugby league fans not to believe in what was reported,” Tokam said.
