ONE of the three suspects in the robbery at the PNG Air office in Goroka last week died during a shoot-out with police.
Provincial police commander David Seine Jr said the three men were armed with two guns and a bush knife.
They confronted the PNG Air ticketing officer and made off with K3500 on Dec 23.
The deceased, identified as Joe Seksy, was drinking with friends later when police surrounded them.
There was an exchange of fire with police in which Seksy was shot.
The other two suspects were arrested by members of the public and handed over to police.
They are now in police custody awaiting prosecution files to be completed before they appear in court.
The three suspects were wanted for questioning over a number of robberies.
Seine commended the members of the public for assisting police in arresting the two suspects.
Part of the money was recovered.
A security guard was treated at the hospital for minor injuries he sustained during the incident.
