PAPUA New Guinea has been included in this year’s World Darts Federation-sanctioned Asia Pacific Cup in Taipei, Taiwan in November, PNG Dart Federation president Molean Kilepak says.
PNG is eligible to compete in all WDF sanctioned tournaments starting this year after affiliating with the world body recently. “PNG was included in the Asia Pacific Cup in Taipei, Taiwan in November, so we will be sending letters to business houses to help support our attendance, which would also include youths (Under-18 by December),” Kilepak said.
“Prior to that, we have the national titles in Kokopo, East New Britain from Sept 6-16 and we’re also looking to host the first youth tournament during the second term holidays in Port Moresby.”
He said PNG would be attending the WDF annual general meeting in Slovakia, the AP Cup in Taiwan and the South Pacific Darts championship in Suva, Fiji in Jan 2025.
Kilepak said the federation aligned their annual calendar with WDF events to cater for any local, regional and or international events. Meanwhile, Kilepak urged associations to pay their affiliation fees to the federation to be considered for regional and international tournaments.
“It was resolved that the affiliation fee be increased to K1,000 per association on annual basis or payment of K2,000 on a bi-annual basis.”
