PNG Ports to continue operations, support shipping industry

PNG Ports will continue its operations and support the shipping the industry despite the current political climate, says managing director Fego Kiniafa.
“Let politics be played by the politicians while we at the PNG Ports will continue to do our business as usual,” Kiniafa said. He said PNG Ports would ensure the ports were safe and there was continuity in facilitating trade the country needed.
“All ports managed by PNG Ports should continue to provide services as safe as possible on berthing, unloading and loading cargo so that normal trading and exchange of goods and services flow normally,” he said.
Kiniafa said PNG Ports had been dealing with the Covid-19 situation and was doing its best to make sure operations continued.
“Because it is an essential service for the country, PNG Ports ensures all ports remain open for business as usual,” he said.
Kiniafa thanked all partners in the industry who made sure businesses flowed in the midst of the Covid-19.
