THE Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF), through its regional office in Kokopo, East New Britain, donated a touch ball and volleyball net to the Palipal Youth and Sports Association on the Duke of York Island last Wednesday.
PNGSF regional coordinator Ford Sohembo said during a coaching clinic that teams registered under the association had the chance to learn the latest touch and volleyball rules.
He said Palipal was the first association on the island to undergo the coaching clinic this year after all sports had been put on hold due to the Covid- 19 pandemic.
Sports in the province will go into full swing with pre-PNG Games events, including the June regional youth games, set for next year.
Sohembo said proper clinics and an event management course would be conducted for youths on Makada Island next year.
Makada sports coordinator Michael Obed thanked Sohembo for the donation.
Meanwhile, in the men’s touch competition, Service beat Education 1-0 and Recreation defeated Devotion 1-0 last Wednesday.
