A FEMALE police officer was arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman who allegedly sent her dog to a veterinarian to be put down.
Gordon police station minor crimes officer-in-charge Insp Robert Wane said a brawl erupted at the female quarters of the Gordon police barracks in Port Moresby after a female officer accused another female officer of signing a consent form to have her dog put down without her permission.
“A police woman is now in custody for instigating the fight after learning that the other female police officer had agreed to send her dog to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to be put down by the veterinarian,” Insp Wane said.
He said the dog’s owner was alleged to have breached the Gordon police barracks standing orders not to have pets in the barracks.
Insp Wane said the owner had verbally abused and attacked her fellow officer for signing the consent form and allowing RSPCA officers to remove her dog. “The suspect accused the victim of signing the consent form without first consulting her,” he said.
Wane said the victim claimed she had signed the form acting on the collective consent and agreement of all female quarters residents for the dog to be removed.
Insp Wane said that when the suspect learned that her dog had been removed to the RSPCA compound, she became angry and attacked the victim before the fight was broken up by other female officers.
Wane said the victim then laid a complaint and the suspect was arrested and detained and the incident was being investigated.

  • Don’t these two animals should not have worn the Police uniform.
One is a criminal who does not know how to follow orders.
    The second is a thieve.

  • Suspect Policewoman is a law unto herself. Why resorting to fighting when you knowingly have been in a breach of the Barracks Standing Orders by keeping the pet dog in the female quarters for a very long time. Total insanity!!
