Polye confirms four for East Sepik

TRIUMPH Heritage Empowerment (T.H.E) Party parliamentary leader Don Polye has confirmed the endorsement of four candidates in East Sepik province, a stronghold of the National Alliance party.
Polye said along with East Sepik regional candidate Sophie Mangai and Yangoru-Saussia’s Raphael Huafolo, he would also field Lucas Engime and Arnold Mamba for the Ambunti-Dreikikir and Wosera-Gawi electorates respectively.
He said time was of the essence and he could not delay endorsements for these seats any longer.
“T.H.E Party will not contest the Maprik open seat, currently held by Gabriel Kapris.
“For the other seats in East Sepik, I still haven’t decided,” Polye said yesterday.
Meanwhile, in the highlands, two women were endorsed to contest the regional seats.
They were Julie Soso and Barbara Toiya.
Soso will run for the Eastern Highlands regional while Toiya will challenge Catholic priest, Fr John Garia for the Chimbu regional seat.
The two and other male candidates from the highlands region were announced in Mt Hagen on May 11.
Seats T.H.E Party would not contest in the highlands are Goroka open, Sinasina-Yongomugl, Tari-Pori, Ialibu-Pangia and Hagen open.
The sitting MPs and intending candidates endorsed for open seats in Eastern Highlands were Anton Kave (Ombura-Wanenara), Sai Sailon Beseo (MP – Kainantu), Montee Akike (Henganofi), Opoe Soga (Unggai-Bena), Philip Morowo Timbie (Daulo) Yawa Silupa (MP – Lufa) and Hicky Soloma (Okapa).
In Chimbu, Jeffery Kama will run for Karamui-Nomane), Camilus Daguma (Kerowagi), Wera Mori (Chuave), Joe Kotoa (Kun­diawa-Gembogl) and John Kerenga Gul as pro- regional candidate.
In Jiwaka, Alois Kuk will run as regional candidate, Benjamin Mul (North Waghi), Francis Du Guan (Jimi) and Pawa Wai (Anglimp-South Waghi).
For Dei open, Peter Pim and Wesley Nukundi would run as pro-candidates with Tom Olga re-contesting his regional seat, Sani Rambi (Mul-Baiyer) and Benjamin Poponawa (Tambul-Nebilyer).
Sandy Talita will run for the Enga regional seat, Paul Kurai for Wabag open, Patrick Balon (Kompiam-Ambum), Sam Talepakali (Laiagam-Porgera) and Miki Kaeok (Wapenamanda).
In Southern Highlands, Thomson Yalo Bela will run for Kagua-Erave), Steven Temo (Imbonggu), Tony Kila (Nipa-Kutubu), Terry Gaso (Mendi) and Dickson Kisombo as pro-candidate for Mendi open.
Polye said for Hela regional, Ricks Mamu had been endorsed with Robert Tia (Komo-Margarima) and Philip Undialu (Koroba-Lake Kopiago).
