IN-FORM Women’s National Soccer League Northern Conference leaders Poro will look to continue their perfect start when they face hosts Pacific Garden at the National Sports Institute in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, tomorrow (3pm kick-off).
The other round 11 matches to be played at Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium tomorrow will see Bara take on Morobe Tulips (11am), Markham Raings face Tusbab Laidamon (1pm) and Rainy Lae battle second-placed Sepik (3pm).
This will be Poro’s second away game and the team are adamant about continuing their record from home after beating hosts Tusbab Laidamon 3-2 a fortnight ago.
Pacific Gardens, on the other hand, will not want to disappoint their fans again after losing 3-2 to visitors Rainy Lae in round nine.
Poro coach Troy Gunemba told The National that there would be changes to his line-up as he would give his substitutes some game time against the conference cellar dwellers.
“The climate does not suit us, so we have worked hard at training ahead of the game,” he said.
“The climate is one thing and their supporters is another that we must be mindful of and stay focused on our game.
“We want give them a good game to show that we are a great side and scoring first will help our cause.
“Most of my players will be new to the Goroka climate but they have been urged to stay focused and they are confident.
“Our aim is to maintain our lead and earn the win against Gardens.”
Gunemba said he would count on Meagan Gunemba, Daisy Takolu and Talita Irakau in attack.
“Injured central defender Georgina Bakani will be rested and she will be replaced by Judith Gunemba,” he said.
Gardens president Joshua Agunam said his players were ready to face Poro.
“We’ll give our best shot throughout the match,” he said.
