A PUBLIC servant had told those who attended a financial literacy training in Pomio’s Sinivit local level government (LLG) in East New Britain (ENB) to use what they learnt from the training on managing their financial affairs.
Division of LLG and ward affairs in the LLG official Irene Ling said they should use what they learnt beginning with their families.
Ling said K10,000 was given by the ENB government for the training.
ENB small-to-medium enterprise (SME) coordinator with the Division of Commerce Natasha Aplin said the training was part of a partnership between the ENB government and the Centre for Excellence and Financial Inclusion, under the Bank of PNG.
“This is one of the activities under the national financial inclusion strategic plan,” Aplin said.
“We are rolling it out into the 386 wards.”
Aplin said there would be follow-up visits on the participants.
