Pre-match races would have been good: Pini

THE Rio Games has been the most amazing of all appearances since his first Olympic Games in 2004, PNG swimmer Ryan Pini says.
Competing in his fourth and maybe final Olympic Games, the PNG champion swimmer said the Games have been great for swimming.
“I love representing my country and to be able to do it four times at the highest level of sporting competition is something very special,” Pini said.
He said he was hoping for a couple of swim events before his actual competition.
Pini said: “It would have been good to have a couple more races before the 100m butterfly to allow me to get comfortable with the pre-race set-up and the racing environment but unfortunately this wasn’t the case.”
But he was grateful to his Team PNG teammates for their support and him and for all the people in PNG watched the race.
