Prisoner’s body buried in Indonesia

THE Papua New Guinea prisoner who died in the Doyo Narcotic Prison was buried in Indonesia on family request, PNG consular-general Colonel Jeffrey Wiri says.
“Spana Mero, of mixed Gulf and West Sepik parentage, was laid to rest on Tuesday at the Sentani Public Cemetery in Papua Province after his family advised prison officers that there was no need to repatriate his body to West Sepik.
Wiri said Mero died on Sunday after a long illness.
