Private school buys bus

A PRIVATE early learning school based in Kiunga, Western, was able to buy a bus through the government’s small to medium enterprise (SME) funding programme.
The Cross Country School of Excellence in North Fly, which also focuses on teaching science technology engineering mathematics (Stem) subjects, expressed its gratitude to the Government and BSP Financial Group Limited for the funding and facilitation process.  Teachers, students and parents celebrated the arrival of the bus which was presented to the school by BSP Kiunga branch on Friday. Principal Elias Wranga said the school aimed to provide children with a strong basis in education with an early focus on Stem education. “I decided to leave the main stream education system to make a real difference in the country’s education system by pioneering the Stem education system and I am committed to that vision despite no support from other stakeholders beside parents,” he said. BSP Kiunga branch manager Ivy David commended the school for its growth over a short space of time and had received praise from parents and the public.
She said BSP was proud to assist the school acquire the bus which she was positive would help it improve its operation.
