THE Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (Pilag) human resources business training programmes are part of the Government’s public sector ongoing reform for performance excellence, Pilag chief Michael Barobe says.
“Our aim is to train people to have the capacity, knowledge and skills to perform and deliver services,” he said.
Barobe said this at the closing of a Pilag and Personnel Management Department partnership four-week training for Mamose and Eastern Highlands in Lae on Friday.
“The root cause is people do not understand the business process in screening the people,” he said.
“So we are giving the skills back to the people so that they understand well and do things the right way with more transparency and honesty.
“The Government spends so much money when people win court cases and such training is one way to help cut down costs in the public services spending which is the main focus of the training.”
