Public servants urged to register

ACTING Registrar Noel Mobiha has urged all public servants, including teachers, to give all relevant information to be registered on the National Identity (NID) data base before Dec 31.
Mobiha in a paid advertisement said the PNG Civil and Identity Registry (PNGCIR) was developing a strategy to get public servants registered on the data base.
“This is an implementation of a Government direction to have all public servants registered by Dec 31,” Mobiha said.
He said for PNGCIR to efficiently develop a cost-effective strategy to address public servants in remote areas, they sought the following information;

  • Name of public servant/department/position/job title/ file numbers for teachers/mobile phone numbers;
  • name of town/village of place of work/ward/LLG/district/province; and,
  • If at all possible, GPS location (latitude/longitude) of place of work

“This information is required to enable PNGCIR to efficiently allocate its limited resources to ensure all public servants in remote communities and some urban areas who are on the Government payroll to be registered,” Mobiha said.
He urged those who have registered and are awaiting for their birth certificates and NID cards to provide their registration records.
