TRAVELLERS and motorists passing through the Daulo Pass section of the Highlands Highway were yesterday warned not to travel in the night and early hours of the morning because of land and mudslides during this rainy season.
Eastern Highlands provincial police commander Supt Augustine Wampe yesterday warned travellers and motorists not to travel the section which is prone to mudslides and landslides during rainy season.
He said the police would not be available to protect them at nights and very early hours of the morning.
The section between Daulo summit and Manto was completely blocked off on Monday night by a massive landslip between 6.30pm and 7pm.
Travelers coming into Goroka were forced back and those traveling to the inner highlands provinces were left stranded in Goroka.
The debris was cleared the next day restoring normal traffic flow.
