SMOKING can have many adverse effects on the body.
Some of these can lead to life-threatening complications
Smoking affects the respiratory system, the circulatory system, the skin and the eyes and increases the risk of many different cancers.
It can damage the heart, blood vessels, and blood cells.
Many teens and adults in Papua New Guinea are seen smoking cigarettes, tobacco and even marijuana.
While quitting smoking can be challenging, the number of those who have quitted is higher than the ones still smoking.
Doctors and healthcare professionals can assist in quitting.
This is a call to all Papua New Guineans who are smoking to take heed if these warnings and quit before it’s too late.

    I smoked for 32 years and gave up 11 years ago, and I’m now a normal, healthy person minus all the problems associated with smoking.

    Smoking was killing me, but I won the battle.
