Thank you City Loop driver for the kindness

I COMMEND the City Loop taxi, registration number T7554, for an incredible service rendered to me on Sunday (in Port Moresby).
I was hustling to catch my 8am chartered flight.
I was anxious that it was already 7:30am and I was still looking for a ride to the airport from 6-Mile, Saraga, where I was residing.
The mentioned taxi stopped where I was standing.
I hurriedly opened the passenger door and gave my destination.
Realising that I was anxious and late for my flight, the driver sped to the airport without much talk.
Upon arrival, I pulled out a K20 note from my pocket and gave it to the cab driver as my taxi fare.
I told him to get K10 and give me the other K10 but to my amazement the driver refused to take the money with a warm smile.
He knew the situation I was in and refused the only K20 I had.
The sympathetic driver told me to keep the money and use it on my trip.
My anxiety stopped and I experienced great relief from that rare encounter with the driver.
I didn’t realise that there was another female passenger in the backseat.
She offered the driver a kina but he stunningly refused that as well.
I was wondering the woman would hitch a cab with only a K1 in her purse. It’s ridiculous for passengers to pay K1 for taxi.
At that moment, I thought about how difficult life was and how people still manage to show kindness.
I realised that the driver was being kind because he understood our situations.
He chose to be kind even when his purpose was to make profit for the company.
The taxi had great features with aromatic odour. It was cosy and appealing to customers.
The short drive to the airport taught me a good number of things.
The driver’s great deed was not economically viable but would go a long way.
I recommend City Loop to anyone who is looking for a ride.
I thank the driver and speak blessings on him and City Loop that you will reap in tenfold.
