THE Ramu nickel and cobalt project in Madang values a closer working relationship with its project landowner companies, an official says.
This is so the landowners and stakeholders can benefit more, said vice-president of Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Ltd Wang Baowen.
He was speaking during the opening of the week-long corporate leadership training on Monday, which was attended by all 35 landowner company directors and managers.
Baowen said Ramu NiCo paid closer attention to ensuring cordial working relationship with landowners and stakeholders for all parties to benefit from.
“Under our motto ‘One Ramu, One Community’, we pay high attention to developing healthy relationship with landowners and shareholders,” he said.
Baowen said the company looked to strengthen business cooperation in catering, security, agriculture development and transportation to benefit landowners.
The training was aimed at instilling correct ethical and corporate leadership character traits and skills, introducing correct professional workplace behaviours and practices to the participants, and increasing productivity and profitability of landowner companies.
Baowen said the training would instill new skills and talents for the landowners to operate and manage their companies successfully and expand in their business environments.
“We need to control our expenditure, save money and expertly operate,” he said.
“That is why we organise the training for the landowner companies at Ramu NiCo.
“I hope our landowner companies become strong and the managers of the landowner companies improve their skills and bring more benefit to the company and the people.”
All participants will receive a certificate from Ramu NiCo for successfully attending the week-long leadership training programme.
Chairman of Kurumbukari Landowners Association Tobby Barre thanked MCC for organising the training.
