Reason for police officers out of uniform, PPC says

NORTHERN officers seen by the public without uniforms and holding guns are on duty, says the provincial commander.
Michael Welly said the public must not go to media with negative reports about this.
He said the public should verify the facts first.
Welly said there was a late night traffic accident last week which armed police without uniforms attended to.
He said his officers were woken up from their sleep and did not have time to wear uniforms.
“It was acceptable for me,” Welly said.
“They are humans just like us. They had to go out to attend to an accident that happened in the night.”
The accident happened, a student was hit by a vehicle at Killerton Road.
Relatives and the people around Killerton retaliated.
