Relatives of slain boy want killer in custody

THE family of Vulcan Bruce, a teenage primary school boy, who was killed with another man in a truck accident on the Magi Highway last Dec 23, wants the driver to be brought into police custody while police investigations continue.
“After having caused two deaths, the driver should be in police custody after he lost control while negotiating a sharp turn at the Sivitatana junction.
“Yet he is walking free right now,” one of Mr Bruce’s relatives said.
The family maintained that it was an injustice that after almost two months, police had yet to wrap up its investigations and arrest the driver.
The family said they were continuously visiting the highway patrol office at Gordon and demanding police to find the driver as soon as possible.
Central provincial police commander Aquila Tokanini said he would have to check the investigation paper before commenting on the case.
