MOROBE Governor Ginson Saonu wants to be in Parliament for at least 30 years to ensure socio-economic development plans in the Kundu Vision 2018-2048 become fruitful.
Saonu said the provincial management team was visiting the nine districts to identify projects and realign them with the 2018-2048 Kundu Vision.
Huon Gulf, Lae, Markham, Nawaeb and Bulolo have been completed while Finschhafen, Tewae-Siassi, Kabwum and Menyamya were yet to be visited.
Saonu said to implement the 30-year plan, a new permanent administrator would be appointed next month to drive the aspirations of ‘kisim bek Morobe’ (bring back Morobe) vision.
“Too many ‘acting’ in administrator’s position have brought shame to Morobe,” he said.
“We need a permanent administrator to manage the affairs of our people.”
Saonu said this when opening an e-library, water supply and male dormitory for Wasu Secondary School last Saturday.
He said Morobe’s future is in the Kundu Vision 2018-2048 and that plan would eventuate in 30 years that he wants to be in Parliament.
“I have a vision to bring back Morobe and set it on its original footpath where late Utula Samana set its standards,” Saonu said.
“Regardless of critics, I am a thinker and I will do it using the approach of the ants.”
He urged people to vote him back and warned if voted out would affect Morobe’s future.
Saonu said his frequent overseas visits were to ensure that Morobe had the best development partners for the benefit of the people and country.
