THE Ialibu Secondary School in Southern Highlands has been operating under two principals since the start of the school year.
Deputy principal administration Joel Yaki said one principal was appointed by the provincial education board and the other by the chairman of the board two weeks later.
“This is week nine and we are still confused as to who the principal is,” he said.
“Despite this, classes are going on as normal.
“But there is confusion on who to see as the headmaster or principal of the school. We have over 1700 students, with 500-plus boarding students.
“We want the position to be cleared.”
Yaki has called on the authorities to clarify who the principal is.
“Already we have students threatening to have a mass withdrawal if the issue is not sorted out. It’s nearly the end of term one and we want to start next term with a principal,” he said.
Because there were two principals, teachers had to fill in two resumption forms.
He said there was no conflict between the two principals but they needed one to be confirmed.
