SCHOOLS that are yet to receive first and second quota Government tuition fee subsidy (GTFS) will still receive them after they fix their school bank accounts.
Education secretary Dr Uke Kombra told The National that some of the remote school’s bank accounts were dormant and they need to activate them.
“Some of them, their accounts have gone dormant because of lack of funds in the accounts and some of the schools have been suspended and there were no teachers and students,” he said.
Kombra said after all these requirements were met then the schools would have received their GTFS.
He said there was no discriminations of which schools to get the GTSF funding and which school should not get it.
Kombra said they look forward to term three and four.
He added that the Government has put an additional K126 million for project fees and the department was working with the treasury to get the funds out to the schools.
He said if this was successful
they would advise the schools on how much they would get and those schools who collected the projects fees would have to be reimbursed.
Meanwhile, Kombra said most schools by now should have already received their first and second GTFS and the schools to manage for the school operations.
