Scorpions, Telikom clash in playoff

EDATEC Scorpions face minor premiers PTPSL Telikom in the NCD Volleyball Association women’s premier grade major semifinal at the Taurama Aquatic centre tomorrow.
Telikom are a balanced, skilled side with Kemmy Manoni, Madia Hairai, Bibiana Paloa, Jynar Bernard, Franky Daton and Mera Kila.
Scorpions’ strength will be Michele Walo and Isa Hicks, who were punishing last week, and have a reliable back court.
Telikom’s best chance is to contain Walo and Hicks otherwise it will be an uphill battle.
The sides played three times this season and Telikom won twiceproving they can keep Scorpions in check. The winner of this match will book the first grand final spot while the loser play the winner of U-MI Yet-Jamas minor semifinal.
U-Mi Yet have a smart and agile side led by Lois Garena and featuring Emily Bae and Sopo Alsop.
The side is coming off a win over Vailima and have the momentum in the do-or-die clash.
Jamas will be led by setter Clera Kila, who will have hitters Veari Aunama, Gora Iga, Loi Ilaitia and Mary Kila at her disposal.
In the men’s major semifinal, Telikom take on Jamas while Scorpions face U-Mi Yet in the sudden death clash.
