Sepik planning futsal festivals for children

AS part of Sepik’s commitment to the Lae community, the Women’s National Soccer League franchise is planning to host futsal festivals for children under 12 years old.
Club general secretary Clarence Hukahu told The National on Thursday that the initiative, which kicks off this week, was aimed at introducing children and soccer associations to the code.
He said although futsal had been introduced by the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA), not many associations had adopted it to help develop upcoming players.
“The festivals will be held on Wednesdays, starting with the Buimo Correctional Services community followed by Lae Secondary School teachers,” Hukahu said.
