COORDINATION offices need to be set up in Papua New Guinea liquefied natural gas (PNG LNG) project areas to resolve issues out of court, Hela Governor Philip Undialu says.
“Relentless court cases have stopped the delivery of PNG LNG benefits to landowners,” he said.
“A coordination office should be set up in Hides.

“Some issues that are brought to Port Moresby for court cases can be resolved here.
“I want us to establish a coordination office where MRDC (Mineral Resource Development Company), Kumul Petroleum and Petroleum Department can all work together to address issues in PDL1 (Petroleum Development Licence 1), PDL7, Angore.”

He said support from the Hela government could then be given.
“We always burden the developer, so there is a need to appoint coordination officers.”
