I AM still in shock over the sinking of mv Rabaul Queen.
I believe that this disaster would not have happened had the company followed maritime rules and regulations.
I have travelled on numerous occasions using the company’s vessels, including the Rabaul Queen.
The thought that always crossed my mind was what would happen if we encountered rough seas and, in the most extreme case, should the vessel sink.
We are all still recovering from the recent plane crash in Madang and now we have another disaster which I believe should not have happened.
It is now up to the government and relevant authorities to investigate and take steps to make ensure that no accident of this nature occurs again.
