Sir Bob tours province

GOVERNOR-General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae arrived in Wabag, Enga yesterday for a weeklong tour of the province.
Sir Bob arrived to a rousing welcome from the people of Enga as school children lined the roads of Wabag town and traditional dances greeted the Governor-General as he met Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas and members of the provincial administration at Ipatas Haus yesterday.
Sir Bob was impressed with school children singing the national anthem and reciting the national pledge in their native tongue.
Being his first official visit to Enga as Vice Regal, Sir Bob reviewed a combined guard of honour from the Royal PNG Police Constabulary and Correctional Service officers based in the province.
Sir Bob visited Take Anda Enga Museum yesterday afternoon. Today the GG is expected to tour the Surinki Agricultural Farm, and pay a visit to the Enga College of Nursing and the new Enga Provincial Hospital construction site tomorrow.
On Friday, the Governor-General will attend and officiate at the Enga Teachers College 7th graduation ceremony and thereafter present the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medals at an investiture ceremony in the provincial capital Wabag.
On Saturday, Grand Chief Sir Bob will travel to Wapenamanda and visit projects initiated by the local MP Rimbink Pato.
The Vice Regal will end his tour at a church service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Secondary School on Sunday and return to Port Moresby via Mt Hagen.
