Sir Puka shifts back to Health Ministry

SIR Puka Temu, moved back to his old Health and HIV/AIDs ministry in yesterday’s Cabinet reshuffle, says he will focus on the Covid-19 containment as a priority.
Sir Puka who was with a delegation to Tufi on an inaugural Link PNG flight yesterday, said he was happy to be moved back “as health is familiar ground”.
He was Health Minister before taking up the new Bougainville Affairs ministry.
He said they were informed by Prime Minister James Marape about the reshuffle so it did not come as a surprise to him.
“I thank the Prime Minister for shifting me back to the Health Ministry.
“It’s an area I’m very familiar with. No doubt my priority is the Covid-19 containment,” he said.
Sir Puka said another important area to focus on was the Public Accounts Committee recommendations on the medical supplies.
Sir Puka said other areas to deal with were the health workers training, cancer, immunisation, rural health and hospital care, malnutrition and maternal health.
