Soccer association defers season

The National Capital District Football Association (NCDFA) has decided to defer its season to next week to allow all teams to fully meet the affiliation requirements.
NCDFA president Vonnie Kapi Natto said she fully supported the deferral because it had been hectic for her executives and coordinators over the past two weekends.
“We held the sevens soccer challenge followed by the southern conference sevens soccer challenge last weekend and it was too much for the helpers and volunteers,” she said.
“We need to recuperate before starting the new season.”
FC Wantoks won the southern conference sevens soccer challenge in the men and women competition.
In the men’s game, FC Wantoks defeated Koupa 3-1 in a penalty shootout after the scores were nil-all after the regulation time.
In the women’s grand final, Marie Kaipu scored a double against Bomana 2-0 to secure FC Wantoks the win.
Kaipu picked up the golden boot award for the two-day challenge while Nathan James picked the award in the men’s division
Meanwhile, Kapi Natto is calling on all club executives to attend an important meeting at Rita Flynn courts on Sunday. The meeting will run from 2-4pm.
She appealed to all teams or club executives to attend this meeting ahead of the season opener.
