Students association distributes solar lights to schools

THE UPNG East New Britain Student Association is distributing solar lights to schools in Pomio district.
It is phase three of solar light distribution to primary schools in the district.
Students Tiolam Wawaga, Joshua Kamilo, Patimos Ronald, Tommy Joseph, Bensted Botaprea and Karl Mante met with Pomio MP Elias Kapavore, district chief executive officer Peter Peniat and Melkoi LLG president Thomas Osa at the district headquarters this week.
They will distribute up to 100 solar lights to selected primary schools starting from Melkoi LLG, to West Pomio and Central Pomio LLG.
The aim of the programme is to unite the UPNG students from East New Britain and conduct awareness on important issues affecting the districts, province and country.
The students were commended for the initiative.
The solar lights were donated by the Kokoda Track Foundation and the Pomio district development authority supported with transport, rations and accommodation.
