Students back on the streets on cleaning job

Chimbu students at the University of Goroka were again on the streets on Saturday to clean the town and say “thank you” to the residents.
The students, who have been doing this for two consecutive Saturdays this month, started at North Goroka and moved towards the main town area. Chimbu Students’ Association president John Bolkun said these were their “community service days” to thank the people of Goroka for being good hosts.
“We want to show our appreciation by cleaning up North Goroka first and later Goroka town streets and the university campus,” he said.
He said the cleaning project was part of Chimbu Day celebrations at the National Sports Institute on Saturday.
