THREE tourism and hospitality students from Bulolo Technical School used their catering skills in setting up an outdoor wedding reception on Sunday.
Kingsley Waka, Jordan Kami and Calista Lawe put into practice what they had learned to help host the reception in Bulolo.
The students catered for 50 guests with assistance from Bernard Kaingen and Jedda Gigi of the International School of Lae.
They were supervised by catering instructor Benjamin Kisekol.
Kisekol said they had not covered the module on buffet because of shortened school weeks last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic but they managed to deliver the reception with a five-man team.
“I took it as a challenge when we were given the responsibility and told the students we were going to deliver it,” he said.
“They just listened to instructions and did everything themselves. It went out well and was a success.
“The team was determined, though it was a task from Seventh-day Adventist church, we took up the challenge and put out most of the things.”
Kisekol said the challenge was not having all the equipment and resources needed but they used what was available to complete the task.
