POLICE in East Sepik say two suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a 42-year-old man from Yuo village are in custody as investigations continue.
Provincial police commander Supt Albert Beli said the deceased and his attackers were all from Yuo mainland in Boikin local level government, Wewak.
It was alleged that the deceased’s younger sibling was drinking homebrew with young men from the village when a fight broke out last month.
During the commotion, the brother allegedly chopped one of his drinking mates with a bush knife.
The wounded man mobilised his relatives and returned the next day to fight but the suspect escaped.
They then chopped the deceased and he bled to death.
Beli said two suspects had turned themselves in to police.
He said body of the deceased was at the morgue for a post-mortem to be carried out.
