Teachers still waiting for their postings

SOME teachers in Madang are still waiting for their postings before they resume duties next week.
More than 100 teachers went to the provincial education office to check their postings but were unable to get any information because the officers were absent.
A teacher said there was no notice to advise them when the list would be out.
He said they expected more professionalism from the staff as some of the teachers had travelled into Madang town from the districts to check their postings.
The teacher said teachers would be expected to be in their schools by next week to prepare for the new school year.
He said some teachers would be taking up their postings in rural areas and needed to prepare accordingly.
“The same thing happened last year and some teachers missed out on filling in resumption forms because they were busy sorting out their kids who were in school,” the teacher said.
“This must not happen again.
“The staff at the education office should come out and explain why there is delay in the putting out the posting.” Meanwhile, a senior officer for the Madang education office, in a letter, last week, said that the list of postings would be out this week.
