Thank you Govt for helping Middle Ramu

Letters

THANK you State Enterprises Minister William Duma and the Government, under Prime Minister James Marape, for recognising Middle Ramu in Madang as a disadvantaged district that needs attention for better services.
The allocation of K2.5 million to Momase, which includes Middle Ramu, means a lot to the people.
However, the district will still need more in terms of government services, especially with education services under the new 1-6-6 reform.
Middle Ramu will need more funding for school infrastructure development in areas with new schools and upgrading schools such as Aiome Anglican High School to a secondary level, old primary schools to junior high schools and others, capacity building and school monitoring funds for inspectors to move around and coordinate service delivery effectively.
Where there is a school, there should be an aid post, police post, airstrip and a town to make it easier for public servants, service providers and the people to access services.
I am appealing to the district development authority to step in to work together to improve the district.
Middle Ramu has four local level governments – Arabaka, Josephstaal, Simbai and Kovon – with a total of 96 wards.
It covers a big area.
I am asking the procurement team to ensure that fair distribution of service is provided to the people in the mountains and along the riverside as well.
