AN estimated 800,000 Papua New Guineans are expected to take part in a programme aimed at fostering positive change.
The “Senisim PNG” programme is being run by the PNG Tribal Foundation in partnership with the John Maxwell Leadership Foundation.
John Maxwell is an American author, speaker and pastor who has written books primarily focusing on leadership and sold millions of copies worldwide.
The 74-year-old is slated to visit PNG later this year.
The programme will engage the country’s leaders from all sectors of society as well as students from government schools.
The programme will be led by selected leaders and influencers from the different sectors of the community.
These individuals are part of the programme’s transformation cabinet which will guide and advise the national transformation programme over a five-year period.
The transformation cabinet met with the director of Global Foundations for the John Maxwell Foundation yesterday.
The cabinet will choose a list of 10 values to be studied by participants where two common agenda items will be identified and selected.
The first item that has been pre-selected is “Ending sorcery accusation related violence in PNG”.
The entire programme involves Papua New Guineans committed to transforming the country through servant leadership.
Supported by the transformation cabinet, the programme will begin roundtable discussions in Port Moresby, Lae in Morobe, Goroka in Eastern Highlands, Rabaul in East New Britain and Wewak in East Sepik.
