Time for MPs, bureaucrats to deliver

Letters, Normal

THE recent bashing of two MPs – Pitom Bombom and Philemon Embel – by their own people is a natural spillover from deep sufferings of the silent majority who do not wish to see their children experience the same thing.
The people are fed up and they are starting to speak out as I found out during my recent visits to some rural districts.
Sooner or later, top public servants who are getting fat in Waigani will meet the same fate as the MPs.
Systemic and systematic corruption and white collar crimes are so entrenched in our system that ordinary citizens can no longer put up with it.
When their representatives come to Moresby to seek assistance, they are forced to “speak the Waigani language” even before they could set an appointment to see any government official.
It is time for MPs and bureaucrats to deliver services and implement policies set by the government unless they want a “taste of the local language”.
