Time for Parkop to go, get someone else

Letters

NATIONAL Capital District (NCD) Governor Powes Parkop has been vocal about having a million ideas to transform Port Moresby.
I believe a human cannot think of a million ideas in a lifetime.
It’s totally absurd and insane.
The ridiculous phrase by our governor of having a million ideas has taken the toll on every NCD residents in Port Moresby and around the country.
Many believed him because of his outlandish and rhetoric speeches during his tenure.
There is nothing to show for his million ideas.
The only thing residents of Port Moresby can see is distorted development.
It’s evident in all corners of NCD were families are displaced by four lane roads.
To date, affected families have not been compensated.
Where are Parkop’s ideas to address such issues of concerns?
Port Moresby is on a verge of mass eviction under the leadership of our governor.
It is sad to see families residing in the city for generations being evicted.
Our governor is supposed to provide a solution which will best help the disadvantaged. It will only take an idea or two from his ideas to help people who have been evicted and are expected to be evicted.
The Garden Hills settlement was one of the clear example of mass eviction which displaced those living there for generations.
More evictions are expected in NCD.
The governor has failed our city and fellow Papua New Guineans.
One of the failed programmes is the settlements to suburbs programmes.
Parkop never changed a single settlement in Port Moresby to suburb.
It’s just a political campaign, nothing more.
If one idea is not workable and achievable in a short span of time, then we do not expect more from the governor’s office.
Our governor has done enough.
It’s about time he calls it a day and hand over the leadership to someone else rather than embarrassing himself with his unrealistic and unworkable ideas.
