THE outcome and impact of any service delivery is evident when the people are happy with the services delivered, Department of Implementation and Rural Development secretary Aihi Vaki says.
Vaki said this when receiving the five-year acquittals by Moresby-South MP Justin Tkatchenko on Tuesday. He said while the district could be labelled as an urban electorate, what had been achieved was evident in terms of services delivered as seen by those who visited the electorate.
Tkatchenko said all infrastructure delivered or that was being worked on had been done through a partnership with National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.
During this term (2017-2022), the MP and his district office have built eight markets, 90 classrooms, two health centres and a district hospital (which is under construction), a sports stadium and another one being worked on and church infrastructure.
Tkatchenko said education remained a priority for the district and his office would continue to build classrooms and upgrade school facilities in the electorate.
He said a resettlement programme was being undertaken to re-locate settlers to 168 allotments at Saraga, 6-Mile.
“We continue to deliver projects and will continue to deliver during the election period because we still have projects being worked on,” he said.
