 THE Pacific MMI Port Moresby Corporate snooker challenge completed round nine last week with  the Port Moresby Lift Services Turbos scoring their maiden A grade victory over Lamana 2, 4-3 in a thriller at the Country Club.

Making a comeback to the snooker scene after laying off for more than a decade, Lahui Mavara sho­wed class for the Turbos. 

Female champion Geua John continued her top form for Lamana 2. 

In another close game, leaders Starland Freezers Dragons 2 beat GAL Topshooters 4-3.

Best for Dragons was Djorne Fong, while Sean McCarthy was tops for the shooters. 

At the Car Club, Lamana 1 beat the PMMI Bomana Bullets 4-3. Best for Lamana was Romy Ramesh, while Warren Gai, after beating Yiannis Nicoloau 2-0, was Bullets best.  The other match was a nail-biter with Starland Freezers Dragons 1 winning the last two doubles to clinch a 4-3 victory over Sunbird Aviation Falcons.

Best for Falcons was Ralph Kaina, while skipper Joey Chan, who starred in both his singles and doubles, did it for the Dragons.  

The ladder still sees Dragons 2 and Lamana 1 on top with 21 points followed by Dragons 1 third with 18 points ahead of Falcons on 18 points and Topshooters on 15 points making up the top 5.

In the B grade, Starland Freezers Dragons leads the way on 21 points followed by Granville Kasens on 18.
