TWIN brothers Robin and Gibson Pinia, from Ranguna ward in the Raluana local level government area of Kokopo in East New Britain, were yesterday found guilty of torching two houses.
They will be sentenced on July 21.
They were remanded at Kerevat jail.
The court heard that last Nov 27, the complainant, Tingiran Vuka, with another person were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
He came knocking on the twins’ door and swore at them because he suspected them having an affair with his wife.
On Nov 29, the twins, with 15 litres of fuel, went to Vuka’s house and set two buildings on fire.
They watched them burn.
Justice Frazer Pitpit told Robin and Gibson that they should have reported the matter to the police instead of taking the law into their own hands.
He said they had committed “a very serious offence”.
Justice Pitpit adjourned the matter to July 21 and called for a probation officer’s report.
