Two-day tourney ends

DIVINE Word University ended its two-day Unity Rugby League (URL) nines tournament at the Madang campus on Sunday.
Ten teams competed in the round-robin matches on Saturday before the top teams clashed for major honours on Sunday.
Sunday’s grand final saw newcomers Kerere Dogs defeating two-time champions BBC Brothers 8-4.
Affiliated under the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL), URL has been running inter-faculty competitions since 2016.
The teams that took part in the nines tournament were Unity Hawks, Manjails United, Kerere Dogs, Paramedics, Young Tribes, Northmen, BBC Bothers, MCS Androids, Torot Saints and Mateco Warriors.
